Learn Hands On
A table in the fab shop is where you will spend the majority of your time.  We’ve structured our course this way intentionally.  An A.W.S. (American Welding Society) Certified Instructor will demonstrate techniques and processes which you will then immediately begin to practice and eventually master.  We will also be including demonstrations from established fabricators in the trade, each one illustrating a different process or technique so that you will understand exactly how what you are learning will be used on various projects or jobs.

During the last section of the course, you will choose a project that you want to complete. Whether it’s a piece of furniture or maybe a new gate for your yard…maybe you want to build a set of custom targets that you can take out on the firing range.  If you can’t settle on a project for yourself, you can help us with ongoing projects that we regularly undertake for the veteran-focused non-profits we work with.  Regardless of the project you choose, by the end of the course you will realize that you really did learn how to weld in the Fab Shop at RH Iron!

Tools and Materials Included
Your course will include the tools and materials you will need to learn how to weld.  The fab shop will be outfitted with grinders, cutting wheels and discs for our students to use in class.

RH Iron will supply you with the following:  Safety Glasses, Face Shield, Gloves, Welding Sleeves, and material for the end-of-course project.

Since RH Iron is a functioning fab shop, you will also have access to the vendor that outfits us with our shop supplies.  In many cases, you will be able to take advantage of the volume discount that we receive if you want to purchase additional or upgraded equipment or supplies.

Online Coursework
RH Iron has combined written information with illustrative videos, quizzes and tests to reinforce and support the processes and techniques students will be learning in the fab shop.

We have designed the online coursework to keep you out of a structured classroom.  Students can access the material from any mobile or desktop device that has an internet connection and will have full access to all materials for the duration of the course.
